Cafe Delicias - Grass Valley Highway in Auburn

I had a great Chorizo Meal and the service was good but there were about 15 flies buzzing around the small restaurant that kept annoying all the customers. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to enjoy a tasty meal, and the meal was tasty, than constantly swatting at flies who are landing on everyone's food and head. Please get a fly trap or something Cafe Delicious! My review is based on the overall dining experience as the food was very good.

Unusually good for a small, family owned Mexican restaurant. Extra good quality, portions and service.

Not real traditional Mexican food...no soft tacos or tortas with meat choices like Al Pastor, erc. . Not cheap either.

My family and I have been coming here since we moved to the area. I've give the establishment a 5-star rating because it's good comfort food that reminds me of the restaurants where I was raised. The servers are nice and without pretension and they always ensure that your beverage glass is full and the chips and salsa don't get too low. If you're driving up 49 to parts unknown, do yourself a favor and stop in for some good eats!

I usually love the food at this Cafe Delicias,but this time I was disappointed. The taco was dry and the rice didn't have any flavor. Sorry.

This place is AWESOME!!! Even during this pandemic they are helpful, they come to the door will take our order. They are happy to see you and happy to help you. They are just the best people and I highly recommend this place!!

Little bit of a wait for a clean table and for the food to come out, but really good service and food was pretty good

Foods great. Service friendly. Been in town for over 55 years i am aware of. Be careful of the hit sauce, its hot!

Update: Tried to call in an order today to be picked up. Was told the two item plate that comes with a little salad, doesn't come with a salad when it's to go. Was told we pay the same price though. I told the gal on the phone that was silly to have to pay the same amount but you get less food and to cancel our order. She was so mad she hung up me. I was not rude, in fact I wasn't even mad. She is not the owner she just work there, but to hang up on me when I apologized and said please cancel our order and then to hang up on me in a fit of rage is ridiculous. So I decided to update my original 5 stars and reduce to 2. Very poor customer service! Wonderful place to eat and the staff are very friendly.

Sitting here eating a chili reyeno and a chicken enchilada verde. Hot and fresh and delicious. Good quality ingredients. Warm and cozy inside. Very comfortable. Great Wifii! Kind of hard to get to. Have to enter through the Chevron station on the corner at Bell Road and Hwy 49.Doesn't look like much, but definitely satisfying.

Service was very poor, good was ok. People that came in one half hour after we were seated were served food before us

LOVE cafe D. Excellent tamales. Tasty salsa. The salad dressing is homemade and the best. The Colorado chimichanga is my absolute favorite. Highly recommended. Wonderful service! End up bringing half our food home for the next day the servings are so big. Casual atmosphere. Sometimes they have the TV on, Sometimes music.

Accidentally ordered take out here instead of old town location. Knew it was a big mistake, but they had already made the food, so we decided to bite the bullet and try it. The staff was talking about us when we walked in, and when we got home, our order was wrong. We called it. DRIVE THE EXTRA DISTANCE TO OLD TOWN!!! Save yourselves.

The food is nothing special I wouldn't write home about it. The reason I gave it a one-star review is because my brother place an order to go well I was dining in he asked for some Pinko de gallo to go. The server blatantly lied to his face and said they were all out. She didn't know that he was my brother and he told me what she said so next time the server came by I requested that item and it was brought out to me a couple moments later. Server is not trustworthy she will lie to you about items they have or don't have because she just doesn't feel like getting it. Will not return would not recommend to someone else

Great Carne Asada and cheese enchiladas!

This is our go to Mexican restaurant. Both my husband and I work not even 5 minutes away so we meet here during the week to have dinner. Food is always hot and good. The one downtown Auburn is where we go when at home it's closer to where we live. Food there is as good.

Poor service and quality of food. They also allowed a homeless person to solicit us while we were at our table.

The tacos were great and a great price on taco Tuesday. And staff made them quickly.

Their food is the the best the cooks are good at what they do and their fast. They are usually pretty nice and the prices are good for what you get.

I always get the chimichangas and they are amazing, tonight I had a pretty unsatisfactory experience though. My brother sat down at a table to order, and I ordered mine to go.. after receiving my order and checking the bag in my car I noticed I had the hot salsa, but not the pico de gallo with my chips. I went inside to ask the woman at the register if I could get some of the pico and she told me they were all out. As soon as I walked outside, I called my brother and told him to ask for more pico... And sure enough they brought him more out. Its not a super huge deal, the food is still great, but getting straight up lied to is lame.

Been an Auburn staple for 40+years and they have yet to change the recipes. Best Mexican food around.
